The Birman is considered a rare cat breed. They were Temple Cats and lived with priests. They originated in Burma. They are also called The Sacred Cat of Burma.
They are very gentle yet playful cats that make wonderful companions for children. Their size varies depending on the gender of the cat, with the male being a bit larger they can weigh anywhere from 8 to 12 lbs.
